Extinction of XY

Pointing towards Extinction of XY

The telltale sign for the extinction of the male species from the family of Homo sapiens is what we see the way things are progressing in this world. The research is progressing towards unisex in future and it favors the female sex.

If they can produce sperms from their own cells(stem cell research) then there is no need for a male role in the process. Procreation is not a problem and the females don’t have to depend on male germ.

Moreover as there are plenty of sperm banks there is no dearth of sperms. If they want babies they can just walk into any sperm banks & choose the baby as per their desire.

What need is there for the male germ? The advent of sperm banks, stem cell research & designer babies means women don’t need men physically for procreation. Stem cell research & gene technology all point towards unisex. The survival of fittest in the unisex scenario favors the female sex. The supposedly weaker sex (anomaly) will finally become stronger & do away with the XY. The option to choose the Childs sex at present in poor countries which lead to female foeticide can be reversed and the futuristic scenario of preference only for same sex will lead to a possibility of male extinction. As I see it everything is falling into place for a woman only world.
The society is disrupting at a rapid pace. Many men are dying in wars & calamities. The Social fabric is at odds all over the world as we see it in our everyday life. The institution of marriage is at cross roads. The role of males as provider no longer holds good. Is it for good or worse we will know only as time passes? Is it Paranoia? No it is not. It is just a forecast for the future years to come.

Oh well.... It surely looks like that, yet I suspect that our desire for company or just sinful lust may prevent such a scenerio from entirely taking place... Then again, 90% of mankind HAS been infiltrated by utter morons... So why not?

The way I see it, the scenario of "walking into a sperm bank and choosing a baby" becoming the norm is very very far away in time. It may be possible for a chosen few but I don't think it will become so affordable that it can change the situation in poor countries, as you say.

    Over-ambitious man
There seems to be a debate on whether technology is good or bad for us. After reading your article about scientists discovering that stem cells can produce offspring. Our society now has new opportunities. But is it right to take the place of God?

As a grade-IX student, I've learnt a lot about freezing cells and cloning. Obviously, as technology advances, more and more things are becoming possible. However, it's scary to think how much farther technology may take us and what disadvantages it may entail. It's funny how much humans strive to gain power.
